Possible definitions: Spiritual evolution is the philosophical, theological, esoteric or spiritual idea that nature and human beings and/or human culture evolve along a predetermined cosmological pattern or ascent, or in accordance with certain pre-determined potentials.
Encompassing the Spiritual, Metaphysical, and Terrestrial domains, human spiritual evolution is eternally operating to raise every human being to the supreme state of Unity with the Divine. As we attain unity, we are reassimilated into
the Divine Quintessence from which we descended when born into a terrestrial body.
|“You have to grow from the inside out. None can teach you, none can make you spiritual. There is no other teacher but your own soul.” Swami Vivekananda“Never think there is anything impossible for the soul. It is the greatest
heresy to think so. If there is sin, this is the only sin ? to say that
you are weak, or others are weak.” Swami Vivekananda“Where can we go to find God if we cannot see Him in our own hearts and in every living being.” Swami Vivekananda
Disciple: How can I attain Self-realization? Master: Realization is nothing to be gained afresh, it is already there. All that is necessary is to get rid of the thought ‘I have not realised’. Stillness or peace is Realization. There is no moment when the Self is not. So long as there is doubt or the feeling of non-realization, the attempt should be made to rid oneself of these thoughts. They are due to the identification of the Self with the not-Self.
When the not-Self disappears, the Self alone remains. To make room, it is enough that the cramping be removed; room is not brought in from elsewhere. Sri Raman Maharshi
|“The real spiritual progress of the aspirant is measured by the extent to which he achieves inner tranquility.”
|“There is no stereotyped way of promoting spiritual growth. Everyone has to work out his own salvation according to hints from his inner self after he has been started on the right road by stereotyped suggestions, standardized spiritual advice, be reverential, be patient, be contented, be self controlled, be meditative and so forth. The crowd of tendencies that one is born with, needs slightly different handling in different people. Some of the inclinations are to be curbed. Some tolerated, some developed, some sparingly fed, and some starved out. The tactics applied in the case of each individual will therefore necessarily vary according to the set of traits he possesses. Paramahansa Yogananda, The Divine RomanceGod’s laws can be known from within, but they can also be learned from without, as they have been spoken of by all great religious teachers. God’s GUIDANCE can only be known from within. Peace Pilgri|
cosmic observer said: There is a way within the self to perceive the unknowable. A loosening of thought patterns and unfocused eye beyond the norm. Intuitive sense guides us to the place of knowing, so deeply aware, so deeply profound, that our skin trembles from the inside out. Where else can we know the Source that has made this place whole. A refuge for expansion, with a vibration of potential and the awesome possibilities that lie in the darkness ahead. We sit in the silence of nowhere and find the light of astounding worlds. Our mission is clear. Our Soul has traveled this far distance only to become the experience. There is no mind that can fathom this. There are no thoughts that can reckon this. There is only the thread of eternal oneness that binds us all in Grace.
Ultimate Spiritual Fulfillment The mind, remaining entangled in plural and divisive notions, cannot find its peace and poise. Once given to the exclusive contemplation of the Supreme as the One source and support of all the varieties, the mind starts rejoicing in this singular wholesome attitude and vision. This transformation does not alter the state of things anywhere outside. The world continues to be what it was. The interactions with it also proceed as earlier, but with one marked difference: None of the objects or interactions can now dislodge the mind from its poise, stability, lightness and expanse. Is not this the ultimate spiritual fulfillment? – SwamiBhoomananda Tirtha
